Hemodynamics for Sonographers

Principles, Physiology, and Clinical Applications

Hemodynamics for Sonographers presents the physical and physiologic principles that govern blood flow and connects them directly to the interpretation of arterial and venous Doppler findings. Designed specifically for sonography students and practicing clinicians, the text progresses from fundamental flow principles to systemic arterial and venous hemodynamics and their clinical applications.

A Sonography-Focused Approach

Hemodynamics is often presented as either cardiovascular physiology or mathematical fluid mechanics. This text approaches the subject from the perspective of the sonographer - explaining the underlying physics and physiology while continually relating those principles to Doppler waveforms, vascular anatomy, scanning techniques, and clinical interpretation.
